Questions & answers
Common questions
Everything you need to know before getting started.
What's included in "ongoing updates"?
Content changes, copy edits, image swaps, design tweaks, and keeping your site's dependencies and security patches up to date. It doesn't cover building new features or major redesigns – those are scoped and priced separately, but we're always happy to discuss what's needed.
Can I upgrade or change my plan later?
Yes. You can move to a higher tier at any point – just get in touch and we'll sort it. The new monthly rate applies from your next billing date.
Do I own my domain name?
If you registered it yourself (through GoDaddy, Namecheap, or similar), it's yours – full stop. If you'd like us to register one on your behalf, we note that in your agreement and transfer it to you if you ever leave.
Who owns the website code?
We do, while you're a client. If you ever decide to leave and want to take your codebase with you, our Website Migration Package transfers full ownership to you – source code, deployment docs, and everything you need to get running with another provider.
What happens after my initial contract term?
Your subscription rolls to monthly once your 2 or 3 year contract ends. You can cancel anytime with 30 days written notice – no questions asked, no penalties.
What if I want to leave and take my website with me?
We offer a Website Migration Package: your source code, a deployment guide, a full content and data export, a 1-hour handover call, and 30 days of follow-up support by email. Pricing by plan: Basic £500 · Business £750 · E-commerce £1,000. Clients who complete their full contract term get 50% off.
What if I need to leave before my contract term is up?
You'll owe the remaining payments on your contract term, plus an early cancellation fee of £500. If you'd like your codebase handed over, the Migration Package fee applies on top. We know that's not what anyone wants – but it reflects the work we've already put in.
What happens if I miss a payment?
We'll send you a reminder straight away. If the invoice is still unpaid 14 days after the due date, we'll pause your site until it's cleared. If it reaches 30 days unpaid, we may end the contract – but we'll hold your codebase for 90 days in case you want to reinstate.
